What good maintenance includes

  • Security updates for the system and libraries.
  • Regular backups and checks that they can be restored.
  • Uptime and error monitoring, with alerts before users notice a problem.
  • Adjustments to new iOS and Android versions for mobile apps.
  • Smaller content and feature changes by agreement.

Why it pays off

  • Outdated systems are the most common target of attacks.
  • An app that is not updated can disappear from the store when Apple or Google change their rules.
  • Fixing things after a failure is always more expensive than regular maintenance.

Who pays for servers and other services

There are two common models. In the first, the server, database and email accounts are in your name and you pay them directly, while the developer manages them. In the second, the developer manages and pays for everything and you pay one monthly amount. The first gives more control, the second fewer worries.

What the price depends on

Maintenance is usually agreed monthly, with extra work billed by the hour. Our hourly rate starts from €35.

  • The size and complexity of the system.
  • How many hours of changes per month are included.
  • Whether server and service costs are included.
  • How quickly you need a response when something breaks.

What to watch for in the contract

  • What exactly is included and what is billed extra.
  • The notice period.
  • That on termination you receive all access, code and documentation.
